A workshop on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was conducted in Raa Teacher Resource Centre, from 16th to 21st of October. This workshop was a joint effort of the North Province Education Unit and Raa Teacher Resource Centre. The workshop was aimed for the Professional Development Coordinators of Raa Atoll schools. Contents of the 6 day workshop included different ways of incorporating ICT in teaching and learning in the classroom. 19 teachers from Raa Atoll schools participated in workshop. All the sessions of the workshop were facilitated by Teacher Educator of R.TRC Mr. Ibrahim Rasheed.

RAEC celebrated Teachers' Day on 5th October, Tuesday. Students of higher secondary classes arranged unforgeable gathering at the school compound. Delicious meals were served for the teachers at the candle night party. Entertaining activities organized by the students made the gathering more colourful.
Certificates of Professional Development Activities were awarded during the event. Meedhoo counselor, Mr. Abdhulla Saeed issued the certificates.

ޕްރޮފިޝަނަލް ޑިވެލޮޕްމަންޓްގެ ޚަރަކާތްތައް ރ. އަތޮޅުގެ ހުރިހާ ސްކޫލެއްގައިވެސް އޮގަސްޓް 5 ވަނަ ދުވަހު ކުރިއަށް ގެންދެވުނެއެވެ. މިޚަރަކާތްތަކުގައި ސެޝަންތައް ނަގާދެއްވީ ކޮންމެ ސްކޫލެއްގެ ޕްރޮފެޝަނަލް ޑިވެލޮޕްމަންޓް ކޯޑިނޭޓަރާއި ސްކޫލްތަކުގައި ތިބި ކަމަށް އެކަށޭނަ ޤާބިލުމީހުންނެވެ.
ކޮންމެ ޓީޗަރަކު އަހަރަކު ހަމަކުރަންޖެހޭ ޕްރޮފިޝަނަލް ޑިވެލޮޕްމަންޓްގެ 15 ގަޑިއިރު ހަމަކުރުމުގެ ގޮތުން އެންމެފަހުން މިހިންގުނު ޚަރަކާތް ނިމުމުނުއިރު ސްކޫލްތަކުގައި މަސައްކަތްކުރާ ގިނަ ޓީޗަރުންވަނީ ކަނޑައަޅާފައިވާ 15 ގަޑިއިރު ހަމަވެފައެވެ. މި ޚަރަކާތްތައް ސްކޫލްތަކުގައި ހިނގަމުންދަނީ ރ. އަތޮޅު ޓީޗަރ ރިސޯސް ސެންޓަރގެ ބެލުމުގެ ދަށުންނެވެ.

A professional development review meeting for PD coordinators of Raa Atoll schools was conducted at Inguraidhoo School on 8th of May. 16 PD coordinators participated the meeting. The meeting aimed to discuss about the professional development activities conducted in the school.
The meeting was arranged by Raa Atoll Teacher Resource Centre in collaboration with Inguraidhoo School. PD coordinators presented PPT on how well they conducted PD day 1 in their school. They also discussed about planned activities for the next PD day and future programmes which can be conducted in the school.
An information technology course is in progress in Raa TRC. The course is aimed for the teachers of Raa Atoll Education Centre. 26 teachers participated the ICT course. 54 hour course will include ways of inserting information communication technology (ICT) in teaching.
The sessions of the course include introducing different software which can be used to plan and conduct interactive lessons in a classroom. The participants will make ICT interactive resources for the subject content in all grades. The workshop also includes discussion sessions to see how much ICT based teaching has been practiced in the classrooms.
The course is organized by Raa TRC. The sessions of the workshop are conducted by the teacher educator of CCE Mr. Ibrahim Rasheed.

Raa Atoll Education Centre aims to be the best child-friendly school in the maldives. From 2007 RAEC tries to bring some changes in teaching methodology. Some training programmes has been conducted for the teachers. These include using ICT in teaching, applying continuous assessment, managing classroom and so on.
As the result of this RAEC became on of the best child friendly school in the Maldives. Many teachers from other schools visit RAEC for the training programme and to observe the modern change implemented in teaching.
The truth behind of this success is the hard work of the teachers and the parents support. R.TRC also played a vital role in bringing the changes.
